Caroline works at the University as the Public Engagement with Research Officer, a post funded through the Research Councils UK Catalyst Seed Fund to create momentum for culture change around public engagement. She works across the University as a whole and is based centrally in the Research Planning team with colleagues who lead the strategically important work on Impact for the Research Excellence Framework (REF). Her work aims to position public engagement with research as a credible pathway to impact. Previously, Caroline project managed Think Corner, a city centre pop-up shop used to showcase University of Birmingham research to the public. She is also the module leader on the PGCARMS public engagement postgraduate course and she organizes workshops and events related to public engagement. Her own research background is in Psychology, having completed MRes and PhD degrees within the field of Cognitive Neuroscience.
