objective of this study is to investigate the effect of temperature, pH and
resin concentration on boron removal from water using fine particles of
Amberlite IRA743 resin.
(IEX) has been found to be one of the most effective methods for boron
removal from seawater. Kinetics of IEX is strongly influenced by the resin
particle size. In this study we have used a fraction of Amberlite IRA 743
resin with particle size of 1-45 μm for boron removal from model solutions
with concentration of 1.5mg/l, hich is typical for permeate after reverse
osmosis desalination of seawater. The resin applied in these experiments was
ground and the fraction passing through a 45 μm sieve was collected. Batch
system was applied to study the effect of temperature (15-35 °C), pH (4-8)
and resin concentration (0.2-0.6 g/L) Concentration of Boron was determined
using HACH DR-2400 spectrophotometer by Carminemethod.
