Technology design plays an important role in the learning
process, possibly saving time and effort and enhancing the outcomes of the
process. The primary purpose of this paper is to enhance and support the
learning process at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in Saudi Arabia. In fact,
learning design depends on learning theories from educational psychology. The
ADDIE model will be applied to design the Interactive Electronic Lecture
System (IELS). The IELS is a novel format for presenting lectures. This paper
defines the IELS system in terms of making the screen designs. In addition a
number of features are explained, such as system interfaces, components and
storyboards. The functionality of the system and what features have been
included are also illustrated.

The main goal of this paper is to assess the learnability of the
Interactive Electronic Lecture System (IELS) and to compare learning outcomes
of undergraduate students who attended traditional lectures with those who
used the IELS. Both groups were tested before and after this experiment was
conducted. They were given pre-tests and post-tests to examine their learning
outcomes. The IELS group was also asked to complete a questionnaire to
measure their attitudes when they used the IELS application. The results
showed that the IELS students achieved higher learning outcomes than the
traditional group.

Evaluation is an essential part of creating and applying an
interactive electronic lecture system (IELS). IELS is designed to enhance
lecturing process for undergraduate students at King Abdulaziz University. To
evaluate the IELS there are three main issues covered in this paper, namely
IELS features, experiment design and research methods. IELS is integrated
application that offers rich interactive components for users. The first
issue is IELS features such as user accessibility, usability, learnability,
interactivity, communication, satisfaction. The second issue is experimented
design for evaluation IELS. Third issue describes how the data has been
gathered and how the results are analysis.
