Abstract: Multi-Agent Systems (MASs) have
stimulated much interest in research because of the advantages found within
such systems. They are able to deal with problems that are too large for
single-agent systems, and are faster and more reliable. This paper examines
how to use MASs in Search Agent Software. Examining how multi-agents function
in a virtual system, the interactions between them and how they formulate
decisions, forms part of the basis of the research into Artificial
Intelligent systems. In this paper, we set out to develop and create Search
Agent Software (SAS) that can retrieve requested information from two
databases. The clients are able to search for a book using author, title,
ISBN and, more significantly for this study, price. SAS will identify the
books requested, where they can be found, and will offer the cheapest
available. Each of the two
databases has the same
names of the
titles, however each
database may contain a
different price. The SAS will get the required information quickly, helping
the user to find the cheapest and possibly nearest. It will connect to the
database using the Agent Interface; there are two agents in the system, known
as MASs. These agents collect the required data and send it to the Agent
Handler. This paper merges different program technologies including the
following: Jade, Java, Finite State
Machine and JFLAP.

Social tagging has
established itself as a crucial aspect in today’s digital library. Social
tagging has formed an interest in the research community because of how it
has evolved the way people use digital library. The main aim of this paper is
to quantify the concepts of social tagging and wheather it had an impact to
the use of digital libraries. This will be done through three angles: (1)
definition of social tagging, its applications in digital libraries and
examples of libraries that use the tagging system. (2) The advantages that
digital libraries accrue from social tagging system and (3) the demerits that
digital libraries may have to encounter as they adopt this tagging system.
For (1), I look at how the tagging system works and the list of libraries
that have adopted this technology. For (2), I analyze the advantages digital
libraries enjoy after adopting the system that other libraries are unaware
of. Lastly, for (3), I look at the disadvantages that digital libraries may
be forced to cope with as a result of installing this system in their
operations. The results would be of utmost benefit to digital libraries to
either adopt or do away with the social tagging system.

Abstract: Enterprise Resource Planning
(ERP) system consists of different sets of software that are used to
integrate the business functions in a company or organization. Given that
these solutions provide an integrated solution to the needs of an
organization, these systems are in high demand by all organizations. The full
potential of these systems can only be realized only if they are successfully
implemented. However, the implementation process is costly and time
consuming, and thus requires careful planning and organization. If
successfully implemented, ERP systems provide many benefits to those
organizations that adopt them. On the other hand, if the implementation
process is not successful, the venture can prove costly. By examining the
existing literature on this topic, this paper focuses on how ERP systems can
be successfully implemented in organization and the critical success factors.
The information provided in this paper may be used to guide organizations in
the implementation of ERP systems.

A survey study of the Enterprise Resource
Planning system

ملخص المشاركة:

Nowadays, Enterprise Resource Planning
(ERP) systems are used in several industries since it provides improved
convenience to information which facilitates the decision making and
managerial control. Unfortunately, the incorrect design, operation and use of
this system guide to various malfunctions in the system and might be a
difficulty in obtaining the required benefits from this system. ERP software
applications assist activities track actual costs and carry out activity
based costing. These applications are utilized in controlling and managing
the product development, supplies and parts purchasing, facilitating the
interacting with suppliers, offering several services for company customers
and tracking orders. In addition, the ERP systems may also have application
components for several business economics and human resources features.
